GLFSI Press Release

Great Lakes Fund Solutions Expands Transfer Agency Offering in the Direct Participation Program Industry
February 1, 2013, Chicago – Great Lakes Fund Solutions, Inc. (GLFSI) announces the expansion of its transfer agency service offering to include non-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs), oil and gas limited partnerships, and other alternative investments sold through independent brokerage channels.  Collectively, these types of investments are known as Direct Participation Programs (DPPs).

For 31 years Great Lakes Fund Solutions, Inc. has serviced managed futures funds and provided operational support to the wire houses and independent brokers that sell these public and private funds.

“A top priority for the company since I joined has been to expand our market by developing functionality to support DPP funds,” says Mark Lancaster, President of GLFSI.  “Adding features to support income-oriented funds and building links to the Alternative Investment Products initiative of Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation were the key steps we took.  This move allows Great Lakes Fund Solutions to expand into the rapidly growing real estate and oil and gas fund administration markets.”

Keith Allaire, Managing Director with Robert A Stranger & Co., a nationally recognized investment banking firm specializing in non-traded REITs, says, “The entry of established service providers like Great Lakes is a vote of confidence in the DPP industry’s potential.”
